The EKS Otus
I have previously written about considering the EKS Otus when looking to upgrade to digital mixing from traditional decks and vinyl. The best retail price you will get will be about £549 from Amazon.
I read some excellent reviews of the OTUS product and on YouTube saw a bundle of great video demonstrations, and to be honest, I think it looks like the best midi controller out there at the moment, but – I don’t want to be charging about carrying a laptop with Traktor or Deckadance about with me all the time. The EKS Otus looked like a blooming great option, and I may well get one once I get back and am a little more cash rich it certainly looks like the best product on the market at the moment.
The best prices that I came across when I was researching the midi controller were on Amazon, HTFR and ebay (best price I have seen is about £425), but the ebay retailers were the same prices but weren’t with as good a reputation.
It is well worth having a look at EKS’s Website and Otus Page: EKS and Otus Pages
Hope this helps you find an EKS Otus a bit quicker.

My New Music/DJ Toy – Tonium Pacemaker
I decided a few weeks ago to buy a new toy as I was a little bored with the whole ipod thing. I was looking at getting an EKS Otus midi controller (I have now written a quick blog about the best place to find a EKS Otus in the UK: EKS Otud UK), but decided that it wasn’t portable enough for what I wanted, so having consulted my sisters fella, he recommended the Tonium Pacemaker to have a look at, and I ended up buying one a few weeks later.

Tonium Pacemaker
It has been really cool for the last few weeks, but… It is starting to really piss me off, as it seems to have taken to crashing every ten minutes, and basically not rebooting very easily at all.
I am now taking pictures of every time it crashes, and am going to have my Tonium pacemaker crash gallery on here and am going to send a link to them with pictures of each time it does it on GetSatisfaction and their user forum at Pacemaker.net
I am hoping they will help me resolve the issue as seemingly it was fine and then “developed” this problem when I was simply assigning a WAH effect to a tune. Irony of it all is, that I was showing it off to Simon – demonstrating how amazing it was when it happened… and it hasn’t worked properly since.
